Equine Therapy approach
Equine Bodywork with a Focus on Osteopathy and Trauma Release
Julia offers intuitive, trauma-informed equine bodywork with a foundation in Osteopathy. Her sessions are designed to identify and reintegrate areas in the horse's body that have lost balance - often due to stress, injury, or trauma. At the heart of her work is supporting regulation of the horse’s nervous system. When dysregulated, horse operate in a survival state - body and mind are disconnected. In this state, the body cannot release tension or let go of compensatory patterns.
Julia’s approach creates space for the horse to feel safe, seen, and understood - because only in a state of safety can deep, lasting change occur. A regulated nervous system is the foundation for healthy movement, calm behavior, and a resilient, connected equine partner.
She recognizes that our bodies - both horse and human - not only store tension, but also emotion. The Body Keeps the Score captures it perfectly: emotional layers often reside beneath the mind's awareness, but the body remembers. Julia believes that effective equine therapy extends beyond manual techniques. Biodynamic movement is essential for integrating new emotional states. When touch and movement are combined, the result can be profound: trauma patterns release, deep-seated tension unwinds, and horses (and humans) reconnect with their full potential.
Trained to recognize unclosed loops within the horse's nervous system - patterns that affect both physiology and behaviour - Julia brings sensitivity and presence to each session. Horses are masters at masking discomfort; as prey animals, it's how they survive. Gaining their trust requires more than technique - it requires the ability to perceive what lies beneath the surface and respond with clarity and compassion.
Julia approaches her work with the same mindset she brings to life: self-reflection, intuition, and curiosity. She listens not only to the body’s symptoms, but to its deeper stories. She believes in the body’s innate capacity to self-regulate and heal, and she uses Osteopathy as the gateway to support this natural intelligence.
Julia has specialized in trauma-release-based bodywork through her studies with Selina Dörling in Germany, founder of Visionary Equine Osteopathy. This unique modality restores biological function by addressing trauma patterns that may originate in early life, including birth, weaning, and castration trauma.
She has completed Level 1 and 2 in Cranialsacral Therapy through EQTherapeutics, deepening her understanding of subtle nervous system dynamics and somatic regulation.
